FORT LAUDERDALE – Dec. 13, 2023 – From medical and mental health treatment to housing and transportation to education, HIV/AIDS organizations across South Florida provide these essential services and more year-round. However, by the time December rolls around, many find themselves stretched thin financially.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL –– Sept. 13 , 2023 –– The Campbell Foundation awarded a $65,000 grant to Daniel Claiborne, Ph.D., an immunologist and researcher at The Wistar Institute in Philadelphia, who is re-engineering CAR T cells to more effectively target and kill cells infected with HIV.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL –– April 26, 2023 -- The Campbell Foundation has awarded an $80,000 grant to James Termini, PhD., a research assistant professor at the University of Miami ,who is developing a way to keep the body’s immune system from recognizing antibodies as foreign by using known drug inhibitors of TLR9, (an important receptor expressed in immune system cells including dendritic cells, macrophages, natural killer cells, and other antigen presenting cells) as a pre-treatment to AAV delivery.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL –– Feb. 6, 2023 –Can human milk prevent HIV transmission? That’s what researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York City plan to study with the help of an $84,235 grant from The Campbell Foundation.
