The Campbell Foundation Awards more than $30,000 in “Holiday Hugs” to HIV/AIDS Service Organizations
Dec. 20, 2018 – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – After Hurricane Michael ripped across Florida’s panhandle, BASIC NWFL, Inc. along with the population it serves, incurred significant damage. The community-based organization, dedicated to assisting those living with HIV/AIDS and their families, has been operating out of the Department of Health while they await repairs.
The Campbell Foundation Awards $75,000 to University of Texas Researcher
October 18, 2018 – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Campbell Foundation has awarded a $75,000 grant to Dr. Netanya Utay, an assistant professor in the department of Internal Medicine at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth, to study the role lymph node fibrosis may play in HIV eradication. Research has shown that people with more scarring have less improvement in T-cells on antiretroviral therapy (ART).
The Campbell Foundation Awards Grant to Advance Development of HIV
August 27, 2018 – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Campbell Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding HIV/AIDS research, has awarded James Munro, PhD, of Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, an $88,000 grant to address some key questions that grew out of the HIV-1 vaccine trial (RV 144) in Thailand. That trial, which included 16,000 volunteers, demonstrated a modest level (31 percent) of protection against HIV-1 infection, and to date has been the only vaccine trial that has demonstrated any level of success.
The Campbell Foundation Awards $75,000 Grant to Stanford Professor
July 19, 2018 – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Campbell Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding HIV/AIDS research, has awarded a $75,000 grant to Dr. Robert Shafer, MD, professor of infectious diseases at the Stanford University School of medicine and his team to build on their NIH-funded research.
The Campbell Foundation Awards $100,000 Grant to The Wistar Institute
March 19, 2018 – FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – The Campbell Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding HIV/AIDS research, has awarded a $100,000 grant to Mohamed Abdel-Mohsen, Ph.D., assistant professor in Wistar’s Vaccine & Immunotherapy Center in Philadelphia.
