The Campbell Foundation Announces $50,000 in Annual Holiday Hug Grants to Support HIV/AIDS Services in Broward County
Fort Lauderdale, FL — Dec. 11, 2025 — The Campbell Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to funding HIV/AIDS research and community support, announced the distribution of its annual “Holiday Hug” grants totaling $50,000.
This year’s grants are directed exclusively to Broward County organizations that provide critical daily testing, prevention, outreach, and support services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
Broward County remains one of Florida’s leaders in new diagnoses, contributing substantially to the state’s 3,422 new HIV cases reported in 2024, according to the Florida Department of Health. With federal funding cuts significantly impacting HIV organizations nationwide, Broward County has been identified as the area where the Foundation can make the most immediate impact.
“We know that resources are stretched thin, and the need in Broward County is urgent,” said Ken Rapkin, executive director of The Campbell Foundation. “By focusing our end-of-the-year funding locally, we can ensure that these funds directly support the organizations on the front lines of HIV prevention and care.”
Grant Allocations
The Campbell Foundation will distribute the following grants:
-
Broward House — $5,000 (matching funds from AIDS Healthcare Foundation via Florida AIDS Walk)
-
Care Resource — $10,000
-
Comprehensive Care Center/Broward Health — $5,000
-
Latinos Salud — $10,000
-
Poverello — $10,000
-
Pride Center at Equality Park — $5,000 (matching funds from AIDS Healthcare Foundation via Florida AIDS Walk)
-
Sunserve — $5,000 (matching funds from AIDS Healthcare Foundation via Florida AIDS Walk
Thanks to matching funds provided by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) through the Florida AIDS Walk, grants awarded to Broward House, Pride Center and Sunserve will be doubled, amplifying the impact of these contributions.
Local Impact
While many organizations across Florida are deserving of support, The Campbell Foundation emphasized that this year’s focus on Broward County will have a direct and tangible effect in the community.
“These grants will help sustain vital services such as HIV testing, counseling, prevention education, food assistance and outreach programs — all of which are essential to reducing new infections and supporting those living with HIV/AIDS,” said Foundation Trustee Bill Venuti.
